 Gabrielle’s ephemeral collection celebrates childhood pursuits as rites of passage, highlighting the imaginative ways we entertain ourselves, like turning a string into a cat’s cradle or folding paper airplanes. Her sunglasses design is inspired by Beatnik artist Harry Smith’s String Figure archive, a universal game of loops and knots that serves as a hand dance, learning tool, and storyteller. Fascinated by the endless variations a continuous piece of string offers, Gabrielle aims to merge facial features with overlapping wires to create facial jewelry.
